REGISTRATION OPENS August 14, 2026

Join researcher and writer, archivist, and AGS board member Nancy Adgent for a guided tour of a cemetery in Sparta, Tennessee featuring comb graves.

This 1-day tour ($60.00) is Sunday, November 8th and will run from approximately 8:30 AM until 4:30 PM.  It is two hours one-way from Spring Hill to Sparta.  Please note - cemeteries are inherently uneven with hidden depressions, holes, roots, and other walking hazards.  The cemetery is in a rural area with taller grass, hillsides, and varying terrain.  Participants should be able to tour without assistance.

This very small group tour is limited to fifteen participants.  Each registrant will receive a comprehensive study guide, waters, and a boxed lunch.  Transportation will be provided in cars from the Hampton Inn, Spring Hill, Tennessee.  Participants are responsible for their transportation to the area, lodging, breakfast, and dinner.  See the AGS website for airport travel tips and maps of area hotels with walking distance restaurants.

There is a separate 3-day tour on Thursday, November 5th thru Saturday, November 7th ($150.00) to visit cemeteries in the greater Nashville and Columbia area.  Registration for that tour is a separate process.

Registration closes Monday, October 12, 2026.  The 1-day tour price is $60.00.  Any cancellations prior to this date will be refunded.  Any cancellations after Oct. 12th will result in a refund only if we can fill your spot from the waiting list.  Please contact AGS at info@gravestonestudies.org for more information.
